Post-Doctoral Research Scientist

Applied Scientific Research has embarked on an exciting new project to develop a state-of-the-art grid-free technology for simulating Fluid-Structure Interaction due to mechanical heart valves.

Candidates with a can-do attitude, and with very strong applied mathematics and scientific software development background, as well as proven research experience in at least one of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Fluid-Structure Interaction algorithm development
• Vortex Element, Boundary Element, and/or Mesh-Free Finite Element Methods

This is a three-year Post-Doc assignment, with the option to extend to a regular position in research and development. A PhD/ScD degree in applied mathematics, mechanical and/or aerospace engineering, as well as strong oral and written communication skills are mandatory requirements for this position. Knowledge of linux or graphics programming are desired but not necessary.
